Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global, non-formal education and learning framework which recognizes and celebrates young people’s achievements outside of the classroom.

The Award allows young people to determine what they are passionate about, regardless of their background, culture or access to resources. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development.  

CORE VALUES

This international program speaks in unison with QEA’s mission of developing habits of the heart and mind for a life of purpose and service. Participation in the program teaches students important skills that value teamwork, determination, courage, responsibility, perseverance, commitment, empathy and optimism. The program excursions are also a means of further encouraging bonds and trust between the students and builds on the School’s existing leadership programs.
